Hattie has made me so many things and sentimental is near the top of that list.
Because I lost my mom at such an early age, I'm always looking for ways to help preserve my feelings for Hattie, so she can cherish them long after Jake and I are gone. Because of this, I put a lot of thought into our family traditions.
Last year for her first birthday, I bought her a copy of the book I Wish You More which is the cutest book in and of itself. Jake and I then wrote our wishes for her for the rest of her life and will do the same again this year in the book The World Needs Who You Were Made to Be.
We have her open the book as her birthday eve present along with new jammies, and we read it to her before she goes to sleep. Then when she wakes up in the morning her room is filled with balloons, and we continue celebrating for the entire day!
